Clash between the Races (Nonstoryline practice fight)

Captain of the 2nd Division, Tenrai Raiden sensed that there was something off in the human world. He had noticed that recently something had been going on, someone was attacking people and as a Shinigami he couldnt allow this to happen anymore. Already in shikai he travelled to the human world and arrived in the outskirts of Karakura town. He had his reaitsu partially surpressed that way if the opponent was strong he could possibly catch them off guard...Even as a captain Tenrai had unusually high reaitsu so he planned to use this to his advantage. He awaited some type of opponent to approach him, placing his zanpaktou in hand.

Zanmato Jishaku had just finished his midnight 'snacking', having devoured the souls of three humans and two Hollows just for good measure when he felt a spiritual pressure that he had not felt just moments before. It felt weak, though still it was stronger than a normal human. Perhaps a Shinigami? Zanmato licked his lips as he dashed to the location, his speed making him seem to be a blur. He reduced the amount of reiatsu flowing out to practically zero, so that his opponent could not sense him coming.

"Stolz get ready. I sense that we are near the Shinigami." Zan said as he felt the presence was nearby, almost in viewing range...

Suddenly, a figure came into view. Yep, it was definitely a Shinigami.

Zanmato stopped about thirty yards away from his opponent, giving them a quick look and guessing at the level of their power. Then he shrugged as they seemed to be quite weak; but then again Shinigami could suppress the amount of power sent out, so he made sure to keep his own powers ready to roll at a moments notice.

"Hello there Shinigami. I apologize for the inconvenience, but I am about to devour your soul.

Zanmato smiled and bowed politely; if he was going to eat someone's soul, he might as well be respectful about it right?

Tenrai narrowed his eyes looking at the man before him...he wasnt a shinigami...a hollow...an arrancar or a vaizard. This ment that he was either a quincy or a bount. Tenrai was an intellegent man..with a photographic memory. He had done all of he research on these types of humans and he knew a great amount of information on them. So now he just had to determine wheather this man was a quincy or bount..and judging by what he said he was a bount. Tenrai glanced at the man. "Or at least die trying bount...", Tenrai said as he took a fighting stance.

Zanmato smirked; at least the Shinigami was going to put up a fight before he died. He assumed his own stance, though it probably could not be called much of a martial arts stance. He was standing straight up with his hands at his sides, though his muscles were prepped to move quickly in response to any immediate danger or threat. Then he thought about his next move and changed his position slightly; his hands began to rise.

"Before we begin, first introductions; I am Zanmato Jishaku, apprentice to Jin Kariya and Leader of the Bounts; and you are?"

Now his hands had fully risen and they were both in front of his chest, palms facing each other, almost as though he were about to pray. The Shinigami would either take the first move, or Zanmato would in the next thirty seconds; it was the Shinigami's choice.

A cloud appeared on Tenrai's blade and sparks started flaring on it. Tenrai knew this wasnt going to be an easy fight if this man was truely the bount leader. Tenrai decided then he might as well also introduce himself. "I am Tenrai Raiden...Captain of the 2nd Division..", he said. Tenrai's zanpaktou started to spark showing flares of lightning appear on the blade. "Make a move...", he said.

Zanmato's smirk became somewhat less arrogant, though he still kept a look of confidence. A Captain? Then there could be no holding back...but first to see exactly what this particular Shinigami was capable of. Then the fighting could begin in earnest.

Jishaku's hands came together and his Spiritual Pressure flared to the level of perhaps an average Captain. A shockwave of spiritual pressure exploded from his position and went in every direction, creating something of a sphere of dust and dirt that the wave managed to pick up. This dirt wall however, was not just for show; it was a cover. He smirked for a moment before his face assumed a look of concentration, then Zanmato dashed forward, moving at high speeds towards his opposition.

Alright then Captain, let's see what you are made of! Show me the legendary might of a Captain-class Shinigami Officer!

Tenrai raised his spiritual pressure to match that of the bount leader's. He then noticed the man caused a dust cloud to block him from Tenrai's sight..Tenrai narrowed his eyes and took a defensive stance as he knew this would probably be used as a way to get a surprise attack on Tenrai..however Tenrai was captain of the 2nd Division and known to be one of the fastest shinigami out there because of it..in terms of speed it would be hard for him to be matched and on top of that seemingly impossible to beat.

As Zanmato charged at him Tenrai dashed forward and met the man head on aiming to slash him through his midsection.

Zanmato felt Tenrai's Spiritual Pressure rise to become perfectly even with his own, then felt it dash toward him at a speed rivaling his own. No matter, considering that he hadn't even begun to use his greatest speeds yet. The dust cloud passed and revealed Tenrai's sword; the gleaming silver seemed to be headed straight for his midsection. Zan smirked, as he had seen this coming. He simply front flipped and the blade sliced through air, while Zan ended up behind Tenrai.

Turning around, Zan aimed a kick with his right foot toward Tenrai's head, in the hopes of disorienting him and leaving him available for more strikes.

Tenrai knew that it wouldnt be so simple to end this fight with a single strike..it was logical that the man would either dodge or block so Tenrai knew he had to be able to make another move fast. When Zanmato jumped over him and appeared behind him to strike Tenrai quickly turned around and blocked the kick with his zanpaktou, meeting the foot head on.

Zanmato's smile ended as his foot came close to be removed from the rest of his body. Only the timely intervention of Stolz saved his from a particularly embarrassing and quick defeat at the hands of this Captain. Stolz, in the form of Zanmato's own shadow, had extended a single curved tendril to intercept the sword and the foot. Zan's strike was interrupted, but he still had his extremity. Not losing any momentum, Zan brought his foot back down and swiftly turned in a full circle with his foot still out, this time aiming a kick at the Captain's legs that would trip him if successful.

"Thanks Stolz!" The Bount Leader managed to say in mid kick.

The sparks on Tenrai's sword flared but then calmed down as the shadow blocked the kick. Tenrai glanced at the shadow and quickly analzed it in a moments notice moving back quickly, dodging Zanmato's following kick. Tenrai narrowed his eyes...looking at the shadow. Perhaps it was the mans doll? Or perhaps he somehow had the ability to manipluate shadows around him..Either way that ment that Tenrai had to be much more on guard..anything around him could possibly be used for a weapon. He was aware of his surroundings and once again took a defensive stance, waiting for the man to strike again. The sparks on his zanpaktou flared and then calmed down. The cloud still covered the katana blade.

Zanmato smiled malevolently. Tenrai was fast, he was to be granted that, however the Bount Leader was not to be underestimated. It was obvious that trying to take him by means of close ranged combat was not going to work out, at least not anytime soon. A change in strategy was necessary...

Zan smiled and began to focus, preparing himself to use his Eiberfung technique...with a deep breath, he began to concentrate power into his shadow to use for the Summoning. But that by no means meant that he had to stand still and let Tenrai have his way with him.

Two tendrils rose out of Zan's shadow and rushed in zig zag patterns toward Tenrai, one going for his heart, the other going for his sword hand.

Tenrai had no intention of letting this fight drag out that long, he planned to end this fight now. He dodged both of the shadow tendrils and for an instant his eyes looked at Zanmato. *Bakudo Number 9...Geki*, he thought. There was no forewarning for the attack so there was a slim to none chance that Zanmato would dodge especially since he was focusing on his own technique. A red light would have binded Zanmato if successful, making him completely immobile and unable to move or dodge. Although Tenrai didnt use the incantation he was an captain leveled advanced Kidou user, so this low level spell should have been able to bind him for at least a few seconds...and all Tenrai needed was a single moment. He didnt watse any type as soon as he finished the first spell he moved onto the next one.

"Carriage of thunder, bridge of a spinning wheel, with light, divide this into six! Bakudou Number 61 Rikujoukourou", he quickly yelled performing the high level kidou. Just a few moments after the red light binded Zanmato the 6 rods would have stabbed into his mid section making sure he was fully immoble. If somehow Zanmato dodged the first attack, Tenrai would have still used this spell which should catch him due to its massive speed, especially since said with the incantation. However it didnt stop there Tenrai continued with one final bakudou. "Bakudou Number 63 Sajo Sabaku!", he then said as a golden chain formed and also binded the man's midsection. All these kidous occured right after the other and with the little reaction time and forewarning due to the first kidou it was highly likely that Zanmato would be able to dodge. If successful he wouldnt be able to move at all..he would be completed binded.

As he did this Tenrai was still aware of his surroundings, always ready to dodge a surprise shadow attack incase Zanmato could do it remotely. However if this attack was successful..the fight would be reaching its finale as Zanmato wouldnt be able to move for a long time.

Zanmato cocked his head to the side as he heard the Captain begin his Kido incantations. He didn't even flinch as he was covered with a red light from head to toe, but he did notice that he could not move a muscle. A minor inconvenience, one that was not remotely a concern in the long run. It did not stop his technique, which did not require him to move, but to concentrate upon forming power drawn from the depths of Stolz into a more solid form to be used for combat. The two tendrils that he had sent out beforehand doubled back and rejoined Zanmato, and just in time too, for six golden rods of light appeared and flew straight for his midsection; the tendrils stood straight up...and then formed into a wide circle that caught all six beams of light.

Jishaku then noticed the mans' lips moving, and so thought to himself for a moment. Another binding spell? Or an attack this time?

Deciding to take a chance on it being a binding spell, Zanmato caused more tendrils to rise from the ground, two to be precise, and these two intercepted what appeared to be a golden chain, immediately becoming wrapped. The Bount Leader resisted the urge to scoff as the red light disappeared and he knew that he was able to move again. The two binding spells had been intercepted, and he was still going with his technique.

"I'm afraid that Kido spells aren't going to help you here Captain Tenrai, unless you try a more direct approach, that is."

Tenrai didnt watse any time. He noticed that his second bakudo wasnt successful because it was blocked by the tendril. This ment that straightforward attacks wouldnt be enough to stop this man. Tenrai waved his sword and the cloud that was on it shot towards Zanmato and then expanded 50 meters around him, completely surrounding him. This all occured as Tenrai emitted his 3rd Bakudou so Zanmato wouldnt be able to dodge since he let himself be hit by the first one. "Maybe this will end it...", Tenrai mumbled as he clenched his fist and the cloud would begin to spark and then in an instant the cloud practically released a powerful blast of lightning. Since Zanmato was still binded by the first bakudou when this happened, moving or dodging wasnt an option so hed only be able to rely on his shadows for protection...However that wouldnt work either for two reasons. Tendrils wouldnt be able to protect Zanmato from this attack because he would be attacked evenly from every direction...so the only logical way to dodge this would be to create a barrier of shadows..However Tenrai also removed that option..for in the instant that the blast was fired, a strong light would emit in every direction in the same instant because of the lightning. Because of this shadows couldnt exist in the area of effect for the blast. Somehow if Tenrai's theory didnt work, he still had speed on his side as the lightning would have attacked instantly..perhaps being fast enough to attack before Zanmato could create a fully barrier around himself.

This had all occured as the third bakudou was launched so Zanmato would still be binded and unable to move. Tenrai was still aware of his surroundings so he was on the guard and would block or dodge accordingly to any surprises Zanmato had instore incase he survived. If the attack was successful though, it probably wouldnt kill Zanmato but leave him greatly injuried and paralzed. 25 meters outside of the cloud also sparked so anything in that area was slightly harmed and also greatly paralzed.

Tenrai took a deep breath and another cloud appeared on his zanpaktou.

Zanmato was being surrounded by a cloud filled to the brim with energy even as the chain of gold had failed to wrap around his body. Not one to deny the obvious, he prepared for an attack, a big one if looks were anything to go by. Still being bound at this point, he ordered his shadows to do something a little bit unorthodox. His shadow vanished, moving at an incredibly high speed outside of the cloud as it formed around the Bount. From there, the shadow touched the shadow of a nearby tree, causing it to become apart of the overall Stolz.

Stolz then doubled back just as the cloud was finishing becoming centered on Zan's position. It formed an enormous hand that grabbed the still bound Zanmato and pulled away from the cloud just in time for the lightning burst to occur. However, the hand did not pull him away fast enough for him to avoid being shocked uncomfortably and somehow the bount figured even as the hand deposited him near the tree that he was going to need to lean on said tree for a moment before he would be able to move about at full speed again, which he did.

However, at the moment moving around too much was not the main goal. Taking a deep breath and slowly putting his hand on his head, Zan continued to focus for the Einberfung technique.

Tenrai sighed as it seemed Zanmato dodged this attack as well...Tenrai relized if he wanted to end his opponent there couldnt be any reaction time at all..or at least not enough for him to be able to dodge even with his shadows. Tenrai however noticed that Zanmato did take part of the hit..so perhaps he missed most of the impact but even a fraction of the technique would be enough to slightly harm him and more importantly leave a paralisis that could last the rest of the fight. Zanmato's movements would be limited now and as time passed he might be able to move more, but the shock will still have a lingering effect, hindering some of his movements.

Tenrai then looked down, noticing that Zanmato was trying to focus on whatever he was planning. Tenrai decided to wait it out and let his opponent go on the offensive this time while he thought of a way to finish the fight in one move.
