Alice's first day(open)

The front gates of the ninth division barracks seemed a little more intimidating up close, especially to the five foot, six inch Alice. The young girl was usually head strong and confident about most things but, now that she was standing before the barracks gates, she felt a bit nervous.

It was a good thing that it was midday and the sky was clear, otherwise Alice would have most likely played victim to the elements. Her current hesitation to just march into her new place of residence was beginning to bug her.
“Just go on in there already. Silly kid.” a voice said to the young shinigami. The voice was coming from her zanpakutou spirit Rinzler.
“you be quite, Rinzzy. I’ll go in when I’m ready” she snapped back. Finally the girl built up enough strength and courage and proceeded to enter the barracks.

Much to her displeasure, Kohana had finally arrived back in the Soul Society after a pleasing visit to Vincenzo in the human world. She lightly sighed to herself, exiting the Senkaimon gate and walking towards her barracks. She hated leaving Vincenzo after only a short visit, but the young fuku-taichou had much to deal with. She frail looking female started to pass the eleventh division barracks, treading cautiously. A bunch of brutes resided in that division, and Kohana feared those types. Then came the Jubantai headquarters. Squad ten wasn't too bad. After a while, she arrived outside the ninth division. She remembered that Hisagi-Taicho was the Kyubantaicho, and a good friend of hers. She smiled to herself and decided to take a pit stop and say hello.

She approached the gates, only to find a younger looking female standing nervously in front of the gates. As she approached, Ichirin No Hana began to give off a bright, emerald green aura. Kohana looked at her blade curiously, then turned her gaze to the sky. Not a cloud in sight. Odd. Ichirin No Hana usually reacted this way when rain was coming. Kohana chose to ignore this for the time being and address the girl standing at the gates. Um..you seem somewhat lost...or perhaps afraid...I assume you are a new recruit..? Apologies...my nake is Kohana....Vice Captain of Squad Three....is there anything I may be able to help you with, miss? Kohana spoke softly and politely, not wanting to alarm the girl. Kohana was naturally timid, but not so much around females. Men terrified her until she got to know them. The young vice captain looked up at the girl. Troublesome. This girl was younger, but several inches taller than her. Kohana began to feel that she had to be the shortest Shinigami in the Seireitei. She lightly sighed to herself and simply waited for the young woman to respond.

A young Shinigami girl peered out from behind the corner of a small building, located within' the 9th Division barracks. There were numerous other shinigami roaming about the grounds, some chatting and some rushing off to finish their reports. Lin Amakei, the 9th Division's quirky 3rd seat, was searching for a decent place to practice Jinzen. She hopped up, using a small Shunpo to launch her further in the air. Lin leapt onto the roof of one of the buildings, the curvy tan-tiles underneath her feta sandals shimmering in the midday sun. Her eyes sweeped across the tops of other buildings and crowded paths, the breeze sweeping her long, wavy pink hair around her shoulders.

Lin would occasionally catch a glance from one of the other Shinigami down on the streets. They looked a bit confused. Why was the odd woman on the roof? Why wasn't she scurrying off to her work? Simple, it was Lin-chan's lunch break. She'd have some tea and rice, maybe practice a short session of Jinzen, then go on her way. Lin used a numerous amount of Shunpo to get her way to the barracks, finally halting in front of the gates. She absentmindedly traced her finger around the tsuba of her zanpaktou, tapping it occasionally. Lin looked down at the zanpaktou as a loud groan echoed from it. ”Ika-chan....goddammit Ika-chan, your waking me up! Ahhh just....be quiet, it isn't that difficult. Even for a Shinigami as hyper as you...” Blitzkrieg groaned. Lin flicked it loudly, as if to piss it off more.

The spirit within the katana huffed, going silent rather quickly. It was aware young Lin's attitude could outwit his, though only in pure slyness itself. Lin yawned and scanned the area in front of her, spotting two women. One looked slightly familiar, maybe she was one of the lieutenants. The other was a completely new face. Lin walked forward towards the two women, waving at them slightly. ”Good afternoon, ladies. How are you today?” Lin exclaimed rather warmly. She turned her face to the girl with the vibrant green hair, sweeping a hand through her own pink hair. ”You new around here, miss? Lin asked the girl, her voice polite. If the girl was indeed new, she wouldn't want to disgrace her. After all, every Shinigami deserved a kind welcoming to the Gotei 13.

As Alice entered the barracks, she was slightly caught off guard by the amount of shinigami that were roaming around. A few passing shinigami kindly greeted her, while others stared at her odd colored hair. The young girl jumped at the sound of a voice, she turned around and saw another female shinigami standing there. Upon hearing the girls name, Alice bowed “it’s nice to meet you vice captain Kohana. My Name is Alice Lockhart.” the young girl straightened out and was about to answer Kohana’s question, when another voice interrupted, this time Alice did not jump, but instead turned around to see how was speaking.

“good afternoon.” Alice’s eyes scanned the girl up and down, she gave a feint smile when she saw the girls pink hair, at least she wouldn’t be an outcast. Alice almost forgot about the questions that both girls had asked but, she looked at both of them and smiled “I’m the ninth division’s new fourth seat. It’s a pleasure to meet you both.”

Kohana glanced up as another woman approached, greeting herself, as well as the green haired girl. Kohana already noticed a pattern. Kohana's hair was a bright aqua blue color, one girl's was green, and the newcomer had vivid pink hair. A union of the off colored hair people? Kohana simply bowed to the girl approaching, then smiled. She wasn't one for excess chit-chat. She only spoke when she was spoken to, unless she was greeting someone. Kohana's bi-colored eyes simply flickered between the two females, her fingertips drumming lightly on the hilt of Ichirin No Hana. Her weapon was still giving of the bright green aura. Perhaps he was picking up on the other girls' zanpakuto spirits. Ichirin No Hana wasn't exactly social, but he always felt the need to make himself known to others.
